Flook emerged as a flute-driven phenomenon in 1995 and solidified their stature on the trad music scene with their first studio album Flatfish (2019), dubbed “a cornucopia of sublime musicianship”, followed by Rubai (2002), Haven (2005) and Ancora (2019). There is an ever-present abundance of individual virtousity amongst the four members of the group but their reputation is built on an inimitable prowess in playing together. From the start, an intuitive, almost symbiotic, exchange between the various flutes, whistles, frets and skins rapidly became their trademark sound. Thirty years on, their dynamism and inventive flair remain unchanged as they embark on a celebratory international tour, including their much-anticipated return to the CCI after a decade!
‘Nothing short of transcendent… No other band sound like Flook and the new material has pushed them to new, exhilarating heights.’ (Songlines)
‘Never have I seen so many people so completely and utterly spellbound…the most magical of experiences.’ (The Irish Post)
