Join us in the Old Library for the second edition of our French-language reading club hosted by blogger Charlotte Parlotte! Come and discuss two Irish novels that explore the theme of travel, in keeping with the theme of the 5th arrondissement’s literary festival ‘Quartier du Livre’.
The first is David Park’s Travelling in a Strange Land (2018) in which Tom’s journey from Belfast to Sunderland turns into a solitary retracing of family history. In the second, An Ark of Light (2018) by Dermot Bolger, Eva Fitzgerald’s life and its dramas bring her from Dublin to Kenya and Morocco before she finally returns home.
This evening is also a great opportunity to discover our 18th-century Old Library with a guided visit of its collections.
