This evening, as we lead up to Saint Patrick's, the CCI welcomes three of Ireland’s most captivating contemporary folk artists : Éna Brennan, Seán Mac Erlaine & Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh.

Éna Brennan - also known as Dowry - is a composer, arranger and violinist based in Dublin. Her work spans choral, chamber to opera writing, for organisations such as Crash Ensemble, Kirkos Ensemble, and the Irish National Opera. She manages Dowry Strings, a collaboration which has brought her to stages such as London’s Union Chapel, Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie and Ireland’s National Concert Hall. Éna Brennan, currently in residence at the CCI, will also perform her own music.

Long-time friends and collaborators, Caoimhín O'Raghallaigh and Seán Mac Erlaine are members of This Is How We Fly. These genre-defying musicians blend traditional roots with innovative soundscapes. O'Raghallaigh, renowned for his hauntingly beautiful ten-string hardanger d’amore, and Mac Erlaine, master of woodwinds and live electronics, come together to create a rich sonic tapestry that transcends convention. Their music is both deeply Irish and daringly experimental - a testament to the evolving voice of modern folk. This performance promises to bring audiences on an intimate journey of sound, weaving ancient tradition with ambient textures and improvisational brilliance.
Here in the CCI chapel, they present their latest album, Old Segotia, released in autumn 2025 and selected by The Irish Times as one of the 5 best traditional albums of the year.

"This is music to get lost in, its flighty, weightless musings draw the listener in (...). A delicate beauty has been born." (The Irish Times)
