Aidan Chan
Piano recital
In partnership with the Royal Dublin Society
Young Irish-Chinese pianist Aidan Chan has just completed his Masters in Music Performance at London's Royal College of Music, graduating with first-class honours. He has already performed on prestigious international stages, including New York's Carnegie Hall and London's Wigmore Hall, as well as in Hong Kong, China, Switzerland and all over Ireland. Aidan has a particular affinity for the repertoire of Chopin and Mozart, but is also passionate about works by contemporary composers. He is the winner of over a hundred competitions and bursaries, notably the RDS Music Bursary in 2023, a major classical music prize. It is in this capacity that he offers us a recital this evening featuring works by Chinese composers Tan Dun, Chen Yi and Alex Ho, and Irish composers Philip Hammond, John Field and Linda Buckley. This programme illustrates the full extent of his artistic identity - a rich blend of Chinese and Irish cultures. Don't miss this young virtuoso, described as "intrepid" and "unshakeable"!
