Catherine Hehir & Noelle Noonan

Catherine Hehir and Noelle Noonan work both independently and collaboratively. Their artistic practice encompasses print formats, installation, temporary interventions and curatorial projects. Other recent residencies include Uillinn, West Cork Art Centre; CFPR, Univ of the West of England; and the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, Annaghmakerrig. Hehir & Noonan co-founded the "State of Print” with partners in Scotland and Spain to advance the collaborative nature of printmaking and expanded print practice.

The cultural archive plays a pivotal role in their research, often serving as the starting point for in-depth discussion and debate. While at the CCI, the artists will investigate 'contested space' through the lens of Paris’ complex social, historical, political and ecological landscape. The city is charged with examples of how space is defined, redefined, and often contested; their particular interest is in the Jardin des Plantes, the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature as well as exploring Joseph Vallot’s Essai sur la flore du pavé de Paris and the citizen science programme Sauvages de ma rue.
