Niamh O'Malley
February 2026
Niamh O’Malley is a Dublin-based visual artist. She works with moving images alongside sculptural materials including glass, wood, metal and stone. Her work gestures towards enabling, offering protection, conveying sensations of touch, and more – of grabbing, holding, caressing surfaces, offering a moment of tether and precarious poise. She represented Ireland at the 59th Venice Biennale in the solo exhibition “Gather” in 2022. Niamh O’Malley’s work is included in numerous private and public collections in Ireland as well as in France: FRAC Méca-Nouvelle Aquitaine and FRAC Bretagne.
During her residency at the CCI, Niamh O’Malley will pay close attention to French emerging-artist and their innovative relationship to materiality and architecture. Her interest in French modernists stems from their evolution of forms as support systems. She is researching and examining the role of material as social and political structures of caregiving, facilitation and support.
