Niall Vallely

Originally from Armagh, Niall Vallely is a well-known Irish traditional musician and composer. His numerous commissions have come from a wide variety of organisations and music ensembles including RTÉ, BBC and TG4, as well as NI Arts Council, Cork Opera House, Boston Pops Orchestra, RTE Concert Orchestra, the Fidelio Trio, Crash Ensemble and the Vanbrugh Quartet. His work has been extensively recorded and broadcasted with a number of his tune compositions being ‘standards’ now in trad music sessions worldwide.
Long concerned with inter-cultural and inter-genre explorations, Niall intends to collaborate with Paris-based Middle Eastern musicians while at the CCI and work on new music which investigates these Arab influences.
