Julie Weber
October 2025
Julie Weber is a filmmaker and visual artist who examines concepts of being and becoming through moving image and performance works, textiles and sound compositions. Created in response to specific sites and environments, her work merges hand-made and technological methodologies
Recent projects include collaborations and screenings at IndieCork Film Festival, Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) and Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA). She is coming to the CCI to complete a documentary about her sister Laura Weber, the first independent designer to create Olympic uniforms for Team Ireland. Capturing the process, the intricate rhythms and relationships leading to the final moments of dressing the Olympians at the CCI ahead of the games, the documentary explores the intersection of two fields - embroidery and sports – and the deep connection between two siblings.
