Julia Pallone

Julia Pallone is a visual artist. She was born in The Loire Valley, France, and moved to Ireland in 2006. She has been awarded various bursaries and residencies in Ireland and France. Julia Pallone has a drawing-based practice which often leads the way to other mediums. Her interest lies in the possible occurrences of metamorphosis and transformations. She likes to explore the fantastic in everyday life, not as an intrusion into the real world, but as an inherent part of it. While at the CCI I she plans to study animal representation at the Cluny Museum – National Medieval Art Museum and create a series of drawings and ceramic sculptures from her observations. In medieval art real animals and imaginary animals are often represented together; it’s a co-existence that intrigues her.
