Daithí O Dronai

Daithí is an Irish multi-instrumentalist and producer who is fascinated by capturing organic sounds and samples. Daithí’s sound has moved beyond a fusion of Ireland’s past to a contemporary world of rich texture, ranging from deep house music to ambient arrangements, in the form of instrumental narratives, stunning visuals and vocally-charged supporting characters. Daithi’s career has recently taken a significant turn towards film scoring, working on a variety of feature films. His current interests lie in the intersection of Irish music with genres like Italo Disco & French House, aiming to create a globally resonant sound.

Digitalism, Justice and Daft Punk have been strong inspirations within Daithí's career and for his music production. While in residence at CCI, he intends to create a body of work that fuses the rhythmic textures of French House with the melodies of traditional Irish music. He will conduct research into the local music scene, collaborate with Parisian artists and study genre-defining tracks.
