Ciara Nic Chormaic
April 2026
Ciara Nic Chormaic is a film artist based in Dún Laoghaire. With the support of the Arts Council, Nic Chormaic has produced award-winning documentaries (Skin+Soul, Clouded Reveries, Ó Bhéal) which have premiered at Irish and international film festivals. Her first feature-length documentary received the Arts Council Reel Art Award in 2019. Skin+Soul is a cinematic meditation on fashion photography seen through the lens of photographer Perry Ogden whose images blur the boundaries between the fashion world and the real world.
Nic Chormaic is currently adapting an essay by poet and author, Doireann Ní Ghríofa, entitled Time Folks, Please, which is a highly evocative fragmentary piece about a slumbering photographer whose dreams are filled with flickering images. While at the CCI, she will carry out focused research at photography archives in Paris, especially long exposure black and white photography and the use of still images in film.
With the support of the Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Arts Office.
