The CCI runs year-long courses in the Irish language following the Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge programme.

Cuireann an CCI cúrsa teastas bliana i nGaeilge ar bun.

This Certificate in Irish language is delivered by the National University of Ireland Maynooth.

Forty hours per year of Irish language teaching following the certified Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge course and a full day of exam preparation (6 hours) at the end of the course; 46 hours teaching in total. The recommended hours of personal study increase according to the class level (from 80 to 300 hours).

  • Level A1 (Beginners 1): Monday at 7pm
  • Level A2 (Beginners 2): Thursday at 7pm
  • Level B1 (Intermediate 1): Tuesday at 7pm
  • Level B2 (Intermediate 2): Wednesday at 7pm

All classes start at 7pm.
The classes run for between 1.5 and 2 hours (depending on level).

Registration = €250
Registration for returning students = €225
To register for the Teg examination = €25 (at the time of intial registration for classes. To register for the exam after this time, a fee of €50 applies)

The Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge examination assesses the candidates’ language skills by means of written, oral and aural tests at the end of the academic year.
