The Young Folk

The Young Folk

With Anthony Furey (guitar, vocals), Paul Butler (melodica, vocals), Tony McLoughlin (mandoline, vocals)

The President of Ireland is a one of this group’s most notable fans! Following their popular concert at Fête de la Musique 2015 and sell-out concerts all over Europe, The Young Folk return to CCI for a concert in the intimate surroundings of the chapel. Their second album First Sign of Morning propels the trio from the alt-folk music bracket to mainstream indie pop without abandoning the trad roots, rich lyrics and layered harmonies of their debut. Each song of this deeply personal collection tells a story from the songwriter’s life, a tradition that runs deep in The Young Folk’s veins.

"Serious challengers for the area populated by the likes of Fleet Foxes, Mumford & Sons and The Low Anthem."
(Hot Press)

"They are quite simply, one of the most promising young bands to come out of Ireland in several decades, and this debut album is a fantastic calling card and opening gambit for the lads."
