Saint Sister

With Morgan MacIntyre (vocals), Gemma Doherty (harp, vocals)

Saint Sister, formed in November 2014, is the creation of Morgan MacIntyre and Gemma Doherty. Their music draws from early Celtic harp traditions, 60s folk and electronic pop to create ‘atmosfolk' - a mix of soulful vocal harmonies, dreamy synth and electro-acoustic harp. Their debut EP Madrid was released on November 2015 on Trout Records. Having toured around Ireland last year supporting O Emperor and Wyvern Lingo, culminating with a sold-out headline show in Dublin, Saint Sister also performed on RTE’s Other Voices and had numerous plays on BBC Radio 1. 2016 has seen the band’s first international appearances, at Festival A Nous Paris Fireworks and SXSW, Texas.

“A strong, resonant, magnetic sound, with a clear folk influence in the wash, but one where the spooky, full-bodied songs they’re digging out also come with a lot of melodic gumption.” (The Irish Times)
“Bewitching. [Madrid is] a striking, at times quite intense piece of work; it unfolds patiently, with a rare sense of grace.”(Clash Magazine)

Rachael Lavelle has been casting spells around Ireland with her beautifully crafted and enchanting debut EP Superman which received widespread plaudits in the press and on radio. Drawing from an eclectic mix of jazz, classical and pop, Lavelle creates a strikingly original sound.
