The Reflecting City: Reconstructing Dublin

The Reflecting City: Reconstructing Dublin

The Reflecting City: Reconstructing Dublin is a mixed media exhibition focusing on examples of outstanding of architecture and urban design in Dublin. The city of Dublin has experienced massive change over the past decade - The Reflecting City examines this process.

This project provides a permanent and evolving historical, educational and cultural record giving detailed, highly interactive information about urban regeneration and architecture in Dublin in order to generate more informed awareness amongst the public about the built environment.

Within The Reflecting City, one can view images of the exceptional buildings of Dublin, view interviews from the main players in this urban drama - the architects, the city planners and the communities that must live in these new environments - or take a virtual tour around the significant areas of renewal within the city.

The Reflecting City Phase 1 was initially launched, at the UIA International Architecture Exhibition in Berlin during July 2002, an expanded and updated Phase 2 will be launched in Dublin in January 2005 before traveling to Paris, Istanbul and Moscow.
