Le Centre Culturel Irlandais se trouve en plein coeur du quartier Latin à Paris dans le 5ème arrondissement. Il est situé à quelques pas du Panthéon et de la Sorbonne.

The Old Library of the Irish College, Paris, preserves in literary form a conversation conducted by the Irish about themselves. When analyzing the grave problems faced by the Irish kingdom, Irish intellectuals of the 1600s borrowed extensively from French political philosophy, and this process is recorded in the Old Library. Humanism was an educational ideology committed to using Latin and Greek to talk about contemporary culture; and this humanism was equally successful in Ireland and France. Similarly, the dominant political ideology of the time, kingship, was common to both the Irish and the French. The aim of this exhibition is to explain the political reasoning of the time through its concrete expression in the Old Library of the Irish College.
This exhibition was curated by Ian W.S. Campbell, MA, Dip., PhD, research fellow at the Old Library of the Irish College, Paris, May-July 2009.

Centre de ressources sur l’Irlande contemporaine, la médiathèque vous propose plusieurs milliers de documents pour vos recherches, vos loisirs ou pour mieux connaître un artiste invité au Centre Culturel Irlandais.
Les images de l’espace aménagé par l’architecte Pascale Seurin vous donneront un aperçu de la collection et des services offerts.
La collection de la Bibliothèque Patrimoniale du Centre Culturel Irlandais fait l’objet d’un important chantier de conservation depuis octobre 2006.
Le projet s’articule en trois phases :
- une campagne de maintenance du fonds - un audit environnemental - une campagne de réparation sur site
Lors de votre passage à la médiathèque, vous remarquerez que les murs ont été décorés pour vous donner un aperçu de la création contemporaine irlandaise : littérature, arts visuels, danse...
Le Centre Culturel Irlandais remercie les artistes pour leur autorisation d'utiliser leurs œuvres pour habiller les murs de la médiathèque.
