Semaine des cultures étrangères
Outdoor concert*

Julie Feeney
With Cormac de Barra, Eugene Ginty, Simon Menin
admission free (in the courtyard)

With only two CDs, Julie Feeney has imposed herself as a genuine and promising musical talent. From Galway, this young artist is author, composer and producer of her work. Her second album Pages has been acclaimed as Irish album of the year. Julie Feeney’s artful chamber pop is one of the freshest sounds in Irish music with its delicate palette of strings, bass, woodwinds that provide the background colours for a very original performer.www.juliefeeney.com

This concert is part of the FICEP’s Semaine des cultures étrangères (24 Sept – 3 October 10); this year’s theme is « Patrimoine culturel ». Full details are available at: www.ficep.info

Quatuor Modigliani
The Quatuor Modigliani

Chamber music, wrote Gabriel Fauré, is true music and the most sincere expression of a genuine personality. For forty years Music in Great Irish Houses has afforded Irish audiences the opportunity to hear a wealth of extraordinary musical personalities performing in the magnificent settings of historic buildings. To celebrate this 40th birthday, we present concerts in two great Irish houses in Paris: l’Ambassade d’Irlande à Paris (by invitation only) and the Irish College.

Dearbhla Collins, Dermot Dunne, Katherine Hunka, Jack L, Lynda Lee, Carol McGonnell and Quatuor Modigliani will play the music of Mozart, Piazzolla, Kodály, Stravinsky, Ravel, as well as pieces composed at the concentration camp of Theresienstadt during World War II.

A full programme will be available on this website.
