Margaret Kelleher is Associate Professor of English at National University of Ireland Maynooth (NUIM) and Director of ‘An Foras Feasa’ The Institute for Research in Irish Historical and Cultural Traditions. Thirteen years on from the birth of one of Ireland's best traditional music groups, North Cregg continues to produce some of the freshest and finest sounds to be heard in Irish music today. The beautiful vocals of Claire Anne Lynch combine with Christy Leahy’s spirited accordion-playing, Liam Flanagan’s accomplished fiddle and banjo playing and a tight rhythm section with Ciaran Coughlan on swing piano and Martin Leahy on drums, percussion and guitar. Rooted in the vibrant traditional music of their native County Cork, North Cregg embraces musical influences from around the world to create their own distinctive style.

Mary Raftery is a broadcaster, film-maker and writer, best known for her scrutiny of the Irish childcare system between the 1930s and 1980s. Her film States of Fear, first screened in 1999, was influential in leading to the establishment of the Commission to Inquire into Child Abuse by the Irish government; this report was finally published in May 2009. Suffer the Little Children, co-written with Dr Eoin O’Sullivan, was published in 2001. Mary Raftery is a regular columnist with the Irish Times.
