Waveriders

Waveriders

A documentary on the spectacular nature of surfing in Ireland. It was George Freeth, the son of an Irishman, who re-introduced the ancient Polynesian art of wave riding in Hawaii at the start of the 20th century after it had been stamped out by missionaries. The story climaxes as the surfers ride a monster wave reaching heights of 15 metres off the coast of Mullaghmore.
