Much of this season’s programme considers the long-term consequences of conflict and violence. We begin with Colin Davidson’s reflections on grief through his large-scale portraits of those who lost loved ones in the Northern Irish 'Troubles'. Love letters written from the Western Front during World War I form part of an evening of poetry and music from that time, all evoking the futility of war. Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Easter Rising, a rebellion aimed at bringing about an independent Ireland, CCI presents a series of conversations entitled 'Atlantic Isles', focusing on debate and negotiation as our key tools towards achieving a peaceful world.
